Tariffs on Chinese goods up to 145%, not 125%: White House
The US tariffs on China are now at 145%. The White House said on Thursday (April 10) that a 145 percent tariff on goods from China to the United States would take effect. The Guardian, The New York Times.
Earlier, the Trump administration had announced a 125 percent tariff cut on Beijing, but later the White House confirmed the increased tariffs.
According to the previously announced decision, an additional 20 percent U.S. tariff was effective on countries producing fentanyl. In addition, tariffs of 145 percent are imposed on almost all products from China.
China has imposed 84% tariffs on the U.S. since Thursday. According to official figures, trade between the two countries was estimated at $582.4 billion in the last fiscal year.
