Some advisors have a desire to stay in power for 5 years: Asaduzzaman Ripon

BNP Vice Chairman Asaduzzaman Ripon said: "There is a saying in Bangla that if you let a Bengali sit, he wants to sleep. According to some advisers, there is a desire to stay in power for five years.

He said this while speaking at a public meeting titled 'Implementing People's Aspirations to Change the State and Politics of the People's Uprising of 24' at Louhajang in Munshiganj on Friday (April 11) afternoon.
In his speech, Asaduzzaman Ripon said the interim government is not a permanent government. The job of the interim government is not to build five-storey buildings and airports. Bangladesh is not Singapore. Their job is to make an international airport in the future, to make Bangladesh a Singapore, to eliminate drugs, to make our children move freely.
The BNP leader also said the people want an accountable government. They want to vote, they want to establish a government through voting.
Asaduzzaman Ripon said Bangladesh should also take countermeasures to stop transshipment to India. He said India has stopped the French treatment of Bangladesh. The country loves Awami League and Sheikh Hasina, and does not love anyone else. But their goods are being transported through Bangladesh. India should take steps in this regard.
