| Captain Nigar's century set a record for Bangladesh |
Tigress captain Nigar Sultana Jyoti scored a century. Bangladesh women's cricket team captain Sharmin Akter reached the three-figure mark but top-order batter Sharmin Akter could not reach the century mark for a short time.
This is the highest score by a Bangladesh captain in the history of the tournament. The Tigers scored 271 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first at the Lahore City Cricket Association Ground on Thursday (April 10). Opener Farzana Haque Pinki also scored a fifty in the match. In the first match of the Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier, Bangladesh got a big score due to the innings of these three batters.
At the start of the innings, Tanzeem returned to the team outfit for 15 runs. Farzana then shared a 104-run partnership with Sharmin. The team was broken by Farzana's farewell by 119 runs. Farzana scored 53 runs in 82 balls with 4 boundaries. Sharmin then stitched a 152-run partnership with Jyoti. While Jyoti scored a century, Sharmin remained unbeaten on 94. Jyoti Ferran scored 101 runs in 80 balls with 15 boundaries and 1 six. Bangladesh were bowled out for 271 runs.
For Thailand, Maia, Puttangyu and Kamchumpu took one wicket each.
