"Iran arrests 700" "mercenaries" "working for Israel in 12-day conflict"

Iran's state media, Fars News Agency, reported on Wednesday (June 25) that the country's security forces arrested 700 people accused of working for Israel during the past 12 days of clashes. "The agency's report described the suspects as" "Israeli mercenaries."  This was reported by CNN News.

"According to the Fars report, most of those arrested were linked to" "spy networks."  They were identified on the basis of information and intelligence of the local people.

The arrests were carried out in different provinces of Iran, including Kermanshah, Isfahan, Khuzestan, Fars and Lorestan. It is not yet known how many people have been detained in Tehran.

"Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency, has already admitted that its agents inside Iran were working as part of" "Operation Rising Lion." 

On June 13, before Israel's unprecedented attack against Iran, Mossad released video footage of its spies preparing to launch drone strikes from inside Iran.

"These incidents have created a kind of" "paranoia" "in the Iranian government and security forces." Authorities have already arrested scores of people for writing or sharing pro-Israel posts online. "They have been accused of" "disrupting the psychological safety of people in society." 

A new unit has been created in the prosecutor's office in the capital, Tehran, to monitor the media and private social media.

"Other Iranian state media said a number of" "Israeli spies" "had been executed since the start of the war." However, the authenticity of the news could not be independently verified.
