France, Malaysia call for ceasefire and humanitarian aid in Gaza |
French President Emmanuel Macron and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim have called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and unrestricted access to humanitarian aid.
At a joint press conference in Paris, they called for choosing the best path for a lasting solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. More than 38,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed in Israeli military operations in Gaza. Famine and medical crisis have also reached its peak in Gaza.
Food, medicine and fuel supplies are in short supply in Gaza due to the Israeli blockade. "" "Israel must allow aid to enter," "Macron said." '
Both Macron and Anwar advocated the creation of an independent state for Palestinians that would ensure peaceful coexistence with Israel.
"He condemned Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's recent attacks on Iran and criticized the Western world's" "two-faced policy," "saying" "even if you say 'no' to Iran, you still have a problem if you say 'yes' to Israel." "" Iran must proceed in a peaceful manner and accept nuclear inspections. '
Malaysia strongly supports the historic rights of the Palestinians and opposes the Israeli occupation.
Israel is conducting a massive military operation in Gaza in response to Hamas's October 7 attack. According to the United Nations, 90% of Gaza's population has been displaced and more than half of the infrastructure destroyed. Although the International Court of Justice ordered Israel to take preliminary measures to prevent genocide, the violence has continued.
The joint call increases pressure on the international community to ensure that both Israel and Hamas accept an unconditional ceasefire and provide urgent assistance to the Palestinians to deal with their acute humanitarian crisis.
