| India finally acknowledges that Pakistan has taken its fighter jets. |
An Indian defense official has acknowledged for the first time that a fighter jet was shot down during a recent, extensive counter-insurgency operation with Pakistan. The Wire claims that Delhi's "political constraints" were to blame for the damage rather than India's military failure.
This was covered in a report by Geo News on Monday, June 30.
The Indian jet was shot down on May 7 in the largest aerial encounter with the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) since World War II, Indian Navy Captain Shiv Kumar confirmed while speaking at a seminar in Jakarta, Indonesia.
"Yes, we have lost some aircraft," The Wire cited Kumar as saying.
Unlike some, our military is run by political leadership.
