Israel launched an attack on Iran's state television, IRIB. When the attack occurred on June 16, presenter Sahar Emami was live on television. During the assault, the television was off.
He returned to the news presentation for a while after the attack, though, without hesitation. During the war, Sahar became a symbol of bravery in Iran.
This time, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro gave the Iranian presenter the coveted Simón Bolívar award. On the nation's National Day of Journalists, the president of Venezuela presented the award in remembrance of the anchorwoman and other journalists who were murdered by the television network.
