| Global strike called on Monday to protest Israel's offensive in Gaza |
The Palestinian National and Islamic Forces group has called for a global general strike to protest the Israeli offensive in the besieged Gaza Strip. The group called for the event to be held on Monday (April 7) not only in Palestine but all over the world.
The Palestinian coalition called for the program in a statement on Sunday (April 6). They also announced a full-scale strike across Palestine. This was reported by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.
The Coalition of National and Islamic Forces in Palestine calls for solidarity with Palestinian supporters and human rights activists around the world. They said the program was designed to stop indiscriminate Israeli brutality and to hold Tel Aviv accountable for its violations of international law.
Meanwhile, in response to the call of the Palestinian Coalition, initiatives have been taken to celebrate this program in different countries of the world. In Bangladesh, students of some private universities have called for a general strike in all educational institutions. Dhaka University (DU) has also suspended all examinations and classes on Monday.
