An official from Russia has stated that Russian forces have taken control of the entire Luhansk region in Ukraine. According to Leonid Pasechnik, a Russian official in the Luhansk region of Ukraine, the seized territory was one of four regions that Russia annexed from Ukraine in September 2022. If confirmed, Luhansk would be the first Ukrainian region to be fully occupied by Russia in more than three years of war.

 There was no immediate comment from Kiev on Leonid Pasechnik's claim.

 On June 20, Putin said at the St.  Petersburg Economic Forum that he desired Russia to include all of Ukraine. "I have stated numerous times that the people of Russia and Ukraine are one nation." From this perspective, we own Ukraine as a whole. '
