Trump suspends trade talks with Canada |
U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly suspended trade talks with Canada. Additionally, he referred to Canada's tariffs on American technology companies as a "flagrant attack.
At a G7 meeting in the middle of June, where Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney agreed to conclude a new economic agreement within 30 days, relations between the two countries appeared to be relatively stable. The announcement by Trump came hours after the U.S. Scott Besant, Secretary of the Treasury, expressed optimism regarding trade.
