China and Russia react to U.S. attack on Iran

China and Russia react to U.S. attack on Iran

Russia and China have strongly condemned the US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. The two countries also said that the war-torn situation in the Middle East could be further complicated. Al Jazeera reported.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday (June 22) that it was an irresponsible decision to launch missile and bomb attacks on the territory of a sovereign state. This is a clear violation of international law, the UN Charter and UN Security Council resolutions.

"We call for an end to the aggression," the statement added. I emphasise the need to step up efforts to create the right atmosphere to bring the current situation back on the political and diplomatic track.

"In a statement, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said China" "strongly condemns" "the US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities." Beijing also called on all parties to the conflict, especially Israel, to reach an immediate ceasefire. China said the U.S. move was escalating tensions in the Middle East.

"Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will travel to Russia today for" "important talks" "with Russian President Vladimir Putin." This was reported by Qatar-based news agency Al Jazeera. He said the meeting would take place on Monday, although he was leaving for Moscow today.
