| Tariff issue will be resolved through talks with US: Adviser |
Dr Muhammad Yunus, chief adviser to the interim government, expressed hope that talks with the US would make positive progress in resolving the tariff issue. Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the chief adviser in Bangkok, told Bangladesh News Agency (BSS) quoting Dr Yunus on Thursday (April 3).
"We are looking into the matter," the chief minister said. Since this is debatable, we will discuss. I am sure we will find the best solution to this problem.
Regarding the imposition of 37 percent tariff on the import of Bangladeshi products by the US, Shafiqul Alam said the whole issue is still in the initial stage of discussion. We hope that the review and the steps that we are taking will further strengthen the relationship with the United States in the coming days. We can work towards a solution that is win-win for both sides.
