BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said their party will not contest the upcoming general elections. Only an elected government can solve the problem.

He made the remarks after placing wreaths at the grave of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman on the occasion of Independence Day on Wednesday (March 26) morning.

Mirza Fakhrul said the chief adviser's statement regarding the election between December and June is unclear. This is not a road map. BNP has repeatedly said to give an election roadmap, otherwise the country's crisis will not be resolved.
