India to have world's largest Muslim population |
Between 2010 and 2020, the population of Muslims around the world increased significantly. India too was not an exception. India is expected to have the largest Muslim population in the world in the next 25 years.
A recent report by the Pew Research Center has revealed this.
According to the report, the population of Muslims in the world has increased by 34.7 million in the last 10 years. That's more than the population of all other religions combined. The number of Muslims in the world has increased from 23.9% in 2010 to 25.6% in 2020. According to the Pew Research Center, the birth rate of Muslims is much higher than the death rate. But there are also religious conversions in this number. But it is less.
The largest growth in the Muslim population was seen in Asia and the Pacific. According to Pew, the world's Muslim population is expected to reach 2 billion by 2050. By 2050, India will overtake Indonesia as the world's most populous Muslim country.
