What was the message of the Modi-Younis meeting? What analysts say

What was the message of the Modi-Younis meeting? What analysts say

Bangladesh has had a frosty relationship with India since the fall of the government on August 5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with BIMSTEC Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus. It was finally completed in warm weather. Political analysts see it as a positive development.

Geo-political analyst Altaf Parvez said, I will not bend towards India, what has happened in the last 15 years. But we need a healthy, normal and necessary relationship with them that is win-win. They will win, and we will win. Muhammad Yunus went to China, met with the Indian Prime Minister the very next week. It sent a message that Bangladesh wants a balanced foreign policy. This message is very important for the world.

International analyst Shahab Enam Khan said that the nature of India's relationship with Bangladesh in the future will be decided from here. And so it's important to look at it that way. The political situation in Bangladesh was also discussed between the two countries. India wants to see an inclusive election. On the other hand, there has been talk of participation from the side of Bangladesh.
Both analysts believe that Bangladesh has gained importance in this conference of BIMSTEC. And they believe that the election of Bangladesh as the next president will further increase the importance of Dhaka in Southeast Asia.
Shahab Enam Khan said the interests of Bangladesh are regional, bilateral and multilateral, which should be implemented through the presidency. But we also have to remember that BIMSTEC exposes the lack of capacity in many areas. The main reason for this is that big states are not interested in many areas.

Altaf Parvez said the importance of Bangladesh in the region has increased. This has been exacerbated by the Myanmar crisis. My personal view is that since there has been a meeting with India, we should work on how to revive SAARC.
Both analysts believe that from an emotional point of view, India-Bangladesh relations came into reality through this meeting.
