US President Donald Trump has revoked the security clearance of his predecessor Joe Biden and several former national security and White House officials. He gave such instructions to the heads of executive departments and various organizations on Friday.

Those with security clearances can also enter areas where the U.S. government has restrictions. According to US tradition, former presidents receive some intelligence after leaving office. Biden will lose that opportunity because of Trump's order.
Apart from Biden, his family members and former Vice President Kamala Harris are also on the list of those who lost their security clearance. The list also includes former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Biden's Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.
In a letter to the heads of various agencies, Trump said that those named should no longer be allowed to see state secrets.

"I am hereby directing the heads of every executive department and agency to revoke any security clearance granted to these individuals," "Trump said." I am also directing the heads of all executive departments and agencies to ensure that no unguarded access is allowed to U.S. government facilities to keep them safe from these people. '
Trump is angry with his predecessor Biden and often makes offensive remarks about him.
After his first term as president, Trump was also investigated for violating state secrets regulations. The investigation was prompted by the transfer of confidential White House documents to his self-owned Mar-a-Lago resort. The investigation was closed after Trump returned to office for a second term.
Many of those on Trump's list were appointed by Biden. But former Republican lawmaker and Trump critic Liz Cheney's name is also on the list.
