| U.S. and Iran hold second round of talks in Rome |
The second round of talks between Iran and the United States began in Rome. The talks are expected to focus on Iran's civilian nuclear program and the lifting of US sanctions against the country. This was reported by the British news agency Reuters on Saturday (April 19).
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Rome early on Saturday for the second round of talks hosted by the Omani embassy in Italy.
Iran's Abbas Araghchi also met with Italy's foreign minister on the sidelines of the Tehran-Washington talks in Rome. During the meeting, Araghchi reminded all parties of the need to take advantage of this opportunity to reach a logical and reasonable understanding.
The first round of talks between the Iranian and American delegations was held in Oman on April 12.
